With July comes the Calgary Stampede, so get out your cowboy boots, shine up your belt buckle, and practice your two-stepping. If you want to take a break from yahoo-ing, you can explore topiary sculptures at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, check out free programming in Tomkins Park during Summer on 17th, or swoon to folk favourites at the Calgary Folk Music Festival. Jubilations Calgary: Old Time Rock ‘N Roll 

Jubilations Calgary invites you to the dinner theatre production Old Time Rock ‘N Roll. See the original show, enjoy a multi-course dinner, and soak in the experience.

TD JazzYYC Summer Festival 

The TD JazzYYC Summer Festival features 14 shows in six venues, boasting some of the best Calgary-based, Canadian, and international jazz musicians. To finish off the festival, catch the free outdoor JazzWalk event returning to Inglewood on July 2nd

Spruce Meadows Pan American 

The top riders in the world return for the Spruce Meadows Pan American at the world-class equestrian facility in Calgary. Be sure to purchase tickets ahead of time to experience this horse jumping tournament that includes family fun Canada Day activities on July 1st.

Wildscapes at Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo 

There’s more to love at the zoo this summer. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo gardens are being taken over by larger-than-life animal topiaries... but not for long! This one-of-a-kind summer experience can’t be found anywhere else in Western Canada, and will only be available for three short months. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate the warm weather and create new memories with friends and family at the zoo!

Stage West Theatre Restaurants: You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown 

Join Stage West Theatre Restaurants for You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. With charm, wit, and heart, follow life through the eyes of Charlie Brown and his friends in the Peanuts gang. An average day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown, from Valentine’s day, to baseball season, wild optimism to utter despair.

Summer on 17th 

Visit 17th Ave. this season for Summer on 17th. There will be live music, fitness classes, DJ and drag shows, outdoor movies, and more in Tomkins Park throughout the summer. Best part is that all of the events are free.

Calgary Stampede 2023 

The Calgary Stampede is back in a big way for 2023! From rodeo to midway rides, unique food to western art, and Indigenous culture to agriculture, there’s something for everyone at The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.

Cowboys Musical Festival 

Get ready to party at the Cowboys Musical Festival this Stampede! The 18+ tent will have a mix of country, top hits, old school, and rock, with a lineup of incredible artists including Dustin Lynch, Josh Ross, The Kid Laroi, Sam Hunt, Jack Harlow, Nelly Furtado, TLC & Shaggy, Ice Cube, Steve Aoki, 24KGOLDN, and more. Skip-the-line and All Access Passes are available now.

Spruce Meadows National 

Visit Spruce Meadows for the National Tournament and see the best of world-class horse jumping. The fun doesn’t end there, check out the many family friendly activities including shopping and pony rides. Plus you can salute Calgary’s First Responders by getting up close to their equipment used day-to-day. Tickets available now.

Shakespeare On The Go 

See a 75-minute version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream performed at multiple locations in Calgary and area, such as Heritage Park and Brookfield Residential properties. All performances take place outdoors, and are family-friendly, engaging, and easily accessible. There are no tickets required and no cost for the show, however donations are welcome.

Calgary Folk Music Festival 

The 44th annual Calgary Folk Music Festival returns to Prince’s Island Park July 27th - 30th. Check out folk music artists Bahamas, The Paper Kites, Abigail Lapell, Adam Baldwin, Andrew Bird, Aquakultre, Beats Antique, Boy Golden, Jeff Tweedy, and more! Enjoy this great escape in the heart of the city.
