We are a proud participant in the annual Global Destination Sustainability Index which measures the environmental, social, and economic health of our destination and are committed to continual improvements for the betterment of delegate, visitors, and citizens alike.

Biodiversity
The City of Calgary has outlined a 10-year biodiversity strategy which outlines how to protect and increase species diversity.
 
                    Transportation & Soft Mobility
The goal of the City of Calgary’s Transportation Plan is to advance environmental sustainability which prioritizes mobility options for pedestrians and cyclists.
 
                    Culinary & Circular Economies
CalgaryEATS! is the City of Calgary’s Food Action Plan. It encourages local food sourcing, restaurant sustainability certification (LEAF), and urban agriculture.
 
                    Environment
The Calgary Climate Strategy shows the path towards net-zero emissions by 2050.
 
                    Health & Wellness
Calgary consistently places in the top 10 of the Economist’s Global Livability Ranking . It’s also the 3rd most diverse major city in Canada and in the top 25 most affordable cities in the world.

Granary Road and Lethbridge College have collaborated in creating a state-of-the-art aquaponics facility.
 
            Edible Container Garden
River Café has created an extensive edible container garden on site where they grow greens, berries, herbs, and flowers.
 
            Hive to Home
At Burwood Distillery, the honey they source for drinks like the Single Hive Rye Whiskey Cask Honey Spirit comes from their own family-owned hives.
