Celebrating Caribbean Culture
AUGUST 16 - 18, 2024. Take in the summer festival scene with tropical rhythms, cuisine, carnival, and all the culture the Caribbean has to offer. Over its 40 years, the festival has grown into one of the largest cultural events of its kind on the local calendar. Attracting thousands in attendance over the series of festivities. Founded in 1981, this non-profit organization has been able to raise awareness of Caribbean culture in Alberta with activities including the Carnival Parade, Open Air Sunshine Festival, and performances by International Reggae and Soca artists.

From the steel drums of the Caribbean to the parade on Saturday morning and the Carifest Festival on Saturday afternoon at Millennium Park, there is so much to see and do for the whole family to experience. See featured artist Patricia Roberts from Trinidad and Tobago. Pan and Reggae in the park.
What's Great
Family friendly entertainment and programming. The Carifest Festival on August 13 features food vendors, entertainment and an artisan market. Carifest Calgary is presented by the Calgary Caribbean Community Council whose mandate is to promote cross cultural understanding, acceptance and interaction between peoples of diverse nationalities and heritage through their art, their music and their respective talents and abilities.
