A heritage house in historic Inglewood devoted to promoting a love of reading and early literacy.
It’s a place you can visit so children can experience the joy of reading in an environment created for that sole purpose. Little Red Reading House was created by Calgary Reads, a Calgary-based non-profit that has been advocating for early literacy and distributing books to children since 2001. Each visit inspires every family to be a home that reads and invests in the literacy of children which leads to a brighter future for individuals, society, and the economy. Want the whole house to yourselves? The house can be rented for your next family gathering, birthday party or special occasion, making your reading experience even more magical.
Book a time to read for your group of up to 5, play the interactive story-book game together, or enjoy a place of reading magic with special discounts and early event access with a membership. You can spend your time at Little Red Reading House any way you like. Children can find a cozy nook to curl up in and read independently, or enjoy a story read aloud by their adult, or the House Hosts. At the end of your visit, each child can choose a free book to take home and keep. Join a workshop, play a game, attend an event, or even become a member.
Visits are by appointment only. Book your family's visit online today!
