As a resident company of the Jubilee Auditorium, it reaches over 60,000 Albertans each year with performances in Calgary and Edmonton. Founded in 1966, this artistic institution has grown to a holistic ecosystem: a major professional performing arts company with an integrated and internationally renowned ballet school. Alberta Ballet is in the Jubilee nearly every month between September and May with a thrilling repertoire that spans the full spectrum of ballet genres. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Francesco Ventriglia, Alberta Ballet’s classically-trained dancers are selected for their wide-ranging versatility.

Alberta Ballet’s dancer roster has an international flavour, and yet nearly 40% of its professional company trained right here in Calgary at Alberta Ballet School. Alberta Ballet School is the official training division for Alberta Ballet, offers a unique academic-artistic curriculum for grades 7 -12 and attracts aspiring student dancers from Australia, Japan, the U.S., Mexico, as well as from across Canada.
