Alberta Ballet is one of Canada’s leading dance companies. One of the oldest resident companies of the Jubilee auditoria, Alberta Ballet fills the iconic Jubilee stage with productions and dance that thrill and inspire audiences. With a roster of international dancers and a commitment to high value productions, this artistic institution’s repertoire includes classical ballet, contemporary works and pop ballets (featuring scores from icons such as Elton John, k.d. lang and The Tragically Hip. Alberta Ballet is in the Jubilee nearly every month between September and May with a thrilling repertoire that spans the full spectrum of ballet genres. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Francesco Ventriglia, Alberta Ballet’s classically-trained dancers are selected for their wide-ranging versatility. Alberta Ballet’s dancer roster has an international flavour, and yet nearly 40% of its professional company trained right here in Calgary at Alberta Ballet School. Alberta Ballet School is the official training division for Alberta Ballet, offers a unique academic-artistic curriculum for grades 7 -12 and attracts aspiring student dancers from Australia, Japan, the U.S., Mexico, as well as from across Canada.
