2024 Frontline Experience Pass – Spring Edition
The Frontline Experience Pass Contest (the "Contest") is provided by TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU
ELIGIBILITY:
To enter and to be eligible to win, the Contest is open only to residents of Alberta who have reached the age of majority according to the law of the province. Excluded from eligibility are officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents and representatives of TOURISM CALGARY, CONTEST SPONSOR and PRIZE SUPPLIER (collectively, the "Excluded Individuals"). Employees of and any immediate family members of the Excluded Individuals are not eligible to participate in the Contest. For the purposes of these Rules (as defined below), "immediate family" means spouses, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of whether they reside in the same household. NO PURCHASE IS REQUIRED TO ENTER THE CONTEST. The Contest is void where prohibited by law.
ACCEPTANCE OF RULES:
Participation in the Contest constitutes an entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Contest Rules (the "Rules"), as may be amended by TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, at its sole discretion. Winning the Prize (as defined below) is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
CONTEST PERIOD:
The contest period commences at 9:00 A.M. MT on May 1, 2024 and subject to these Rules, will conclude at 11:59 P.M. MT on July 31, 2024(the “Contest Period”).
PARTICIPATION:
1. To enter the Contest, each entrant must ‘Check-In’ to a minimum of three (3) participating locations using their own 2024 Frontline Experience Pass to be eligible.
2. Each ‘Check-in’ will serve as an entry in the Contest.
3. Incomplete entries or entries received after the expiry of the applicable Contest Period will be considered null and void and ineligible towards the prize. All other entries will, subject to the Rules, be eligible (“Entries”).
4. You must be a WestJet Rewards member to enter and win.
SELECTION OF WINNER:
Entrants will be asked to provide a name and email address upon completion of the survey.
At the end of the Contest Period TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, will draw the winner at random within 3-business days of the contest expiring. The winner will be notified by email or telephone number supplied upon entry.
The potential winners of the Prize will be selected by a random drawing from all of the Entries received during the Contest Period on Aug 14, 2024.
The selected entrant of the Prize will be contacted by e-mail (using the e-mail address provided in their survey) on or about Aug 14, 2024. This individual will have seventy-two (72) hours to respond.
Entrants are solely responsible for monitoring their own email accounts and/or voicemail for notification.
If the selected entrant cannot be contacted or fails to respond to any attempted notification by or on behalf of TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, within the applicable time period, said individual will be disqualified, his/her Entry will be declared null and void, and TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, may, in its sole and absolute discretion, select another entrant by drawing another name at random from the Entries.
In order to be declared the “Winner” and receive the Prize, the selected entrant must: (i) correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question; (ii) provide a scan or photocopy of a valid government issued driver’s license to TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, to confirm that individual’s identity; and (iii) sign and promptly return to TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, (or its agents) a declaration, consent, and/or a waiver and release in a form acceptable to TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, and executed by the selected entrant.
PRIZE:
The prize available to be won (the “Prize”) consists of:
WestJet: prize is valid for round-trip airfare for one winner and one guest (2 people) in economy fare class from any WestJet Canadian serviced airport to any regular scheduled, marketed and operated destination in Canada. No cash value, fees, taxes, surcharges are not included. Travel during Airline blackout dates that includes; statutory holidays and peak travel periods (i.e., Spring and Christmas breaks) are not included and travel cannot be booked. Other restrictions apply – see Schedule A for complete terms and conditions. The approximate value of the prize is $2080 and is not redeemable for cash.
Actual value of Prize will vary depending upon point of departure and fluctuation in airfare rates and the selected Prize winner will not be entitled to any difference between the actual value of the Prize and the ARV. The details of the Prize, including, without limitation, dates and times of the flights are as determined by the Prize Supplier in their sole discretion. The winner and their guest must travel on the same itinerary in both directions, including departing from the same airport. No changes in travelling arrangements can be made once the booking has been confirmed (i.e., passenger names, destinations or travel dates). Travel dates are subject to availability and blackout periods apply.
WESTJET PRIZE VOUCHER TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Fees, taxes and surcharges are the responsibility of guest traveling and must be paid for at the time of
booking with a valid credit card. Your Prize is valid from any WestJet operated airport in Canada with regularly scheduled, operated and marketed service within Canada. Prize voucher does not include optional fees such as seat selection and checked baggage.
Booking and travel must be completed by June 30, 2025. Absolutely no extensions permitted.
WestJet Prize voucher is limited and subject to promotional space availability of eligible economy fare options and flight schedule. Not all flights have promotional space. WestJet Prize voucher is not valid for redemption on WestJet Vacations’ packages, flights operated by Sunwing, interline, code share or charter
flights. Prize voucher cannot be used on some dates, including statutory holidays and peak travel dates (i.e., Christmas, Easter and Spring Breaks).
Prize Winner is responsible for transportation to and from the gateway airport and all other expenses not stated as included herein. WestJet Prize voucher cannot be extended. Additionally, changes to travel dates or guest names are not permitted once a booking has been confirmed. Bookings made with a WestJet Prize Voucher are not eligible for paid cabin upgrades.
Transportation is subject to availability, blackout periods, government restrictions and regulations, airline, airport or other transportation restrictions and regulations. Winner is responsible for all expenses, other than those mentioned above, including, but not limited to, airport improvement fees, taxes, surcharges, accommodations, other transportation, attractions, merchandise, souvenirs, medical insurance, travel visas, and all other personal expenses of any kind. Prize Supplier is not responsible for any delays, postponements, suspensions, rescheduling or flight cancellations, for any reason, without any compensation. Other restrictions may apply.
Prize vouchers are non-transferable (and without limiting the foregoing, the prize may not be sold or traded), must be taken as offered and cannot be substituted, redeemed or exchanged for cash, credit or alternative prizes, except in the Prize Suppliers sole discretion. Prize Supplier reserves the right to substitute the Flight Prize voucher with a Prize voucher of equal or greater value. No credit or reimbursement will be provided if Prize voucher is not taken. Prize voucher cannot be combined with any other promotional offer or offers provided by the Prize Supplier. Prize voucher is ineligible for upgrades to Premium or Business class cabins. Prize voucher does not cover checked baggage. WestJet does not handle the payment, guarantee transactions, or buyer protection or seller certification, nor will WestJet be liable for the loss of funds resulting from a fraudulent transaction.
Guests travelling on WestJet Prize voucher are not entitled to compensation amounts provided under passenger rights regimes. By redeeming this voucher, all guests travelling agree to release, and waive all claims against, WestJet relating to any and all liability, damage, or compensation entitlement arising under Canada's Air Passenger Protection Regulations. WestJet is not responsible for lost or mishandled WestJet Prizes. Once Winner has received their Prize voucher and has been delivered to you, you are directly responsible for it.
The Prize Supplier is not responsible if any scheduled event or activity is delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason and the winner will not be reimbursed for tickets or any additional costs, including costs of accommodation. All other costs and expenses associated with Prize voucher and not specified above, including but not limited to, ground transportation between the winner’s residence and the departure airport, and between the destination airport and hotel, accommodations, meals, gratuities, insurance, items of a personal nature, applicable taxes (including airport taxes), personal charges at lodging, luggage fees, security fees or other expenses not specifically described as included in the Prize voucher are the responsibility of the winner and their guests. The winner and their guests are responsible for arranging and obtaining in advance of departure all necessary travel documentation, including, passports, health and other insurance as may be required or advisable and must have valid passports and be permitted to travel. The Prize voucher is subject to space availability at time of booking and advance reservations are required. Failure to comply with all travel rules and regulations may result in the forfeiture of all or part of the Prize and the Prize Supplier shall have no obligation to provide any compensation in respect thereof. Travel restrictions, conditions and limitations may apply. Prize Supplier is not responsible for and will not replace any lost, mutilated, or stolen vouchers. It is recommended that the winner and their guest obtain sufficient personal insurance prior to departure. The Prize voucher will not be rescheduled or substituted once reserved. Prize Supplier will be responsible if the winner or any guests are denied entry onto aircraft, security, or into the destination, or return entry into departure point. In such a situation, the winner and/or guests will be responsible for any and all additional costs incurred.
Prize is non-transferable, non-salable and cannot be converted to cash, and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Prize Suppliers sole discretion. No lost or stolen components of the Prize voucher will be replaced. Prize Supplier reserves the right to substitute the Prize or Prize components for one of equal or greater value if the Prize should become unavailable for any reason. In the event that the winner is unable to redeem any or all of the Prize components, no compensation or substitute Prize will be provided. Winner is responsible for all taxes and fees associated with Prize receipt and/or use.
ODDS:
The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of Entries received during the Contest Period.
TERMS OF ACCEPTANCE:
Each Prize must be accepted as awarded. No prize substitution, assignment or transfer of prizes is permitted, except: (i) as otherwise explicitly provided herein; or (ii) at TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU sole discretion. TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU reserves the right to substitute the Prize with one of comparable value or greater value without liability or consent. All costs and expenses not specifically included above as part of any prize, including, without limitation, any applicable taxes, are the sole responsibility of the Winner.
PRIVACY:
TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, its authorized agents and/or representatives may collect, use, and disclose the personal information provided by each entrant at the time they enter the Contest for the purposes of administering the Contest and Prize fulfillment. By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to the use of their personal information for such purposes.
By accepting the Prize, the Winner hereby further consents to TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU’s use of the Winner's name, city of residence, picture, biographical information, statements, voice and likeness in any advertising and publicity that TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU may conduct in any media or format, whether now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the Internet, at any time in perpetuity, without further compensation or notice to the Winner.
ADDITIONAL TERMS:
TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant from the Contest if TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU finds or reasonably believes such individual to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or where applicable, the Contest Page; and/or to be acting: (i) in violation of these Rules; (ii) in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner; or (iii) with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, WestJet, any of their respective employees, any other entrants, or any other person. Any attempt by an entrant or other individual to automate the entry process, or otherwise, undermine the legitimate administration, security or operation of the Contest, is a violation of criminal and civil laws. TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU reserves the right to seek remedies and damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Entrants engaging in any of the foregoing activities may be disqualified and may accordingly forfeit any Prizes won.
The decisions of TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU in regard to all matters of the Contest are final and binding upon entrants. In the event of any dispute regarding the interpretation of the rules of the Contest or any decision rendered by TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU the decision or interpretation of TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, shall prevail.
All entrants must comply with applicable laws.
Any entry that is illegible, incomplete, altered, or contains false information, is invalid.
Each Entrant acknowledges that TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, and all involved advertising and promotional agencies, or anyone else involved in the development or execution of this Contest, each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and each of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the "Releasees") have not made, nor are in any manner responsible, for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the Prize, including but not limited to, its quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Further, no responsibilities are accepted by any of the Releasees for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, or acts of any government or authority.
BY PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST, EACH ENTRANT HEREBY RELEASES AND HOLDS HARMLESS ALL OF THE RELEASEES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, INJURIES, LOSS, CLAIMS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES) ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH: (I) PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST; AND/OR (II) ACCEPTANCE, USE, MISUSE OR NONUSE OF THE PRIZE OR PARTS THEREOF, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LIABILITY FOR DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY, DAMAGE OR LOSS OF ANY KIND, AND FROM LIABILITY TO ANY OTHER PERSONS RELATING TO OR RESULTING FROM ENTERING THE CONTEST. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER WILL THE RELEASEES’ LIABILITY HEREUNDER EXCEED $1.00 PER ENTRANT.
Without limiting the foregoing, the Releasees are not responsible for: (i) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, or any third parties, or by any of the equipment, hardware, software or programming associated or used with the Contest; (ii) technical errors, defects, delays or failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctions, interruptions or disconnections in communications lines, Internet or website access, hardware or software; (iii) digital or electronic disruptions (e.g. security breaches); (iv) unauthorized human intervention (e.g. hacking); (v) technical or human error which may occur in connection with any aspect of the Contest; (vi) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from a entrant’s participation in the Contest, or receipt or use of any Prize; and (vii) lost, incomplete, illegible or garbled entries, mail or transmissions, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, miscommunications, computer viruses, bugs, worms, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, failed computer hardware or software or telephone transmissions, or other errors or problems of any kind whether electronic, mechanical, or human.
Notwithstanding any other provision contained herein, TOURISM CALGARY - CALGARY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, amend, cancel, suspend, reinstate or close the Contest, at any time in whole or in part without prior notification, and for any reason whatsoever.
The Contest and the Rules shall be governed exclusively by and construed in accordance with the laws in the Province of Alberta, without regard to conflicts of laws principles. Any dispute not otherwise determined in accordance with the rules of the Contest shall be adjudicated in the courts sitting in Calgary, Alberta (or any appeals court therefrom).
