Addiction and Mental Health is deeply misunderstood throughout our society. From the general public, to professionals to people with addiction and/or mental health problems, it is clear that these mental health conditions, their prevention, assessment, treatment and recovery are misunderstood. The Foundation for Addiction and Mental (FAMH) has been created to change the false perceptions and share the reality of addiction and mental health.
FAMH is pleased to present the screening of the Anonymous People movie as a fund raising event. The Anonymous People is a feature documentary film about the over 23 million Americans living in long term recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. Deeply entrenched social stigma have kept recovery voices silent and faces hidden for decades. Courageous addiction recovery advocates have come out of the shadows and are organizing to end discrimination and move toward recovery-based solutions.
FAMH is a grass roots community based not-for-profit organization committed to educating the public and professionals with respect to the realities of addiction and mental health, ensuring the highest quality of prevention, assessment, treatment and recovery in a continuing care environment. The message of the Anonymous People is directly in line with FAMH’s position on public advocacy.
This screening of the Anonymous People movie is a fund raising event for FAMH with a suggested donation of $20.
