THEATRE BSMT’S BADGER EXPLORES OUR LONGING TO HEAL BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR LOVED ONES Theatre BSMT presents Andrew Torry’s one woman show Badger. Barrett Hileman, Co-Director of Theatre at Rocky Mountain College directs the piece. Leon Schwesinger, designs the set, costumes & lighting and Morgan McKee will be composing original music. The show stars the talented Heather Pattengale, an actress from Rosebud. Trevor Reuger, Executive Director of Alberta Playwrights’ Network, provided dramaturgical support. Hester enjoys a loving relationship with her family… until a secret revealed turns her into the black sheep. But when her sister calls on her in a time of need, Hester has two choices: wash her hands of the family she loves, or sacrifice herself for the sister who shuns her. It’s an evocative tale of extremism, estrangement, and deliverance. Badger was the winning script of our 2012 BSMT Dwellers Playwriting Competition. Andrew Torry is a locally recognized emerging playwright whose work has appeared at the following theatre companies and festivals: the Ignite! Festival, Nextfest, Kompany Family Theatre, the Empress Theatre, the Edmonton Fringe Festival, and TheatreXtra. His plays have been shortlisted for various awards and he holds an MFA in Playwriting from the University of Calgary. Andrew has also written dozens of articles for FFWD magazine. Badger runs from May 8 - 18, 2013 (no show on May 13), show starts at 8pm at the EPCOR CENTRE's Motel 225 8th Ave SE.
