Why Go
An extraordinary dining experience is to embark on a journey. We have created a beautiful place in an extraordinary setting and have tended to the details that make you feel at home: staff who care, chefs who are passionate about quality and the regional seasonal ingredients that bring to your palate a taste of place.
Located in the middle of Prince's Island Park, on the lagoon where the Bow River passes through downtown Calgary, River Café features 'Seasonal Canadian Cuisine'. Inspired by the natural setting of the Bow River Valley, the restaurant has the feel and nostalgic appearance of an old Rocky Mountain fishing lodge with an open-hearth fieldstone fireplace and panoramic views of the park and Calgary's dramatic cityscape beyond. Fly-fishing artifacts honour the Bow River's reputation as a world famous fly-fishing destination.
At River Cafe we strive to feature the best tasting, local, naturally produced from small local farms practicing sustainable farming dedicated to responsible stewardship of the land. We also feature unique, seasonal Canadian products from across the country. The presentation and culinary style of the food at River Café has been influenced by the many culinary styles that make up the Canadian cultural fabric.
