About the event
While the larger world was consumed by war, what happened to those who were left to keep the home fires burning? Explore the village and take a peek into life on the Southern Alberta home front. Who were the Soldiers of the Soil? What did school lessons look like during wartime? Which visitors did families dread the most? See the Great War through the eyes of women and children, farmers and newspapermen, and hear stories of heartbreak, resilience, and ingenuity that came to define life on the home front.
