Vital City 2026

There is always a silver lining.

For 70 years, that belief has inspired the generosity that strengthens our city and has guided Calgary Foundation through every challenge, change, and possibility along the way.

This year, we're looking back on the impact we've made together and ahead to what comes next. You'll hear from Eva Friesen, President & CEO of Calgary Foundation, as she reflects on the past year's financial performance and grantmaking impact, and takes us through the 2026 Quality of Life Report, highlighting what it tells us about life in our city today.

We're also thrilled to welcome Tareq Hadhad, CEO & Founder of Peace by Chocolate, whose remarkable journey from loss and displacement to entrepreneurship and belonging is a powerful reminder that hope can emerge from life's most difficult moments and that new beginnings are always possible.
