Trial 09 + phreqed

Trial 09 is a high energy prog rock band from Calgary, and the passion project of guitarist/songwriter Max Singh. Drawing inspiration from bands like Dream Theatre, Rush, King Crimson and more, their mission is to blend memorability, technicality, and explosive live energy. 

Phreqed is a Calgary based band performing 70s style alt rock/funk fusion. The band features slapp style bass player and songwriter Tori Morley known for her dynamic live performances. Alongside her in rhythm and writing is Malcolm Conat on the drums, a local song writer, producer, and groovy drummer. Lead guitar licks are fired up by Jerry Griffiths who is an in demand player on both guitar and drums in the local scene. Mike Morley handles the rhythm guitar, additional song writing, and brings energy through kicks and martial art styled stage presence unlike anything you have ever seen! The band blends melodic hooks, groove heavy arrangements, and experimental textures while staying rooted in bass forward songwriting. Imagine - if you will - Frank Zappa's compositional wit, Steely Dan’s harmonic sophistication, Ecca Vandals energy, and Ponds grove melded into modern alt rock.
