Ideas in the City: Hail the Nocturnal

Join Mount Royal University’s Faculty of Arts in a discussion of the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Creative Arts.

When the sun sets, another world awakens! Nighttime has inspired dreams and nightmares, creativity and rebellion, mystery and wonder. Phoenix Rising invites you to an unforgettable evening of interdisciplinary conversations exploring the many meanings of the night.

Hosted at the Plaza Theatre, Hail the Nocturnal: Reveries, Nighttime and Dark Sides features engaging lightning talks that illuminate the stories, ideas, and experiences that come alive after dark. Whether you’re curious about design, history, psychology, culture, or the unexpected, something is waiting to be discovered.

Delivered in partnership between Calgary Public Library and Mount Royal University's Faculty of Arts, the Phoenix Rising series offers an ongoing program of engagement and support in celebration and advocacy for the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Creative Arts.
