Discover the creativity, diversity, and cultural significance of the Canadian folk music scene today!
Marking a return to Calgary—a city rich in folk tradition and musical diversity—the 2026 CFMAs will take place April 9-12, 2026, with four bilingual concerts open to the public. Each concert will spotlight a curated selection of this year's nominees from across Canada, as well as feature several award presentations.

Songs and Stories
Thursday, April 9 | 7:30 p.m. | Westin Calgary Ballroom
An evening celebrating storytelling in song by some of Canada’s best French, English, and Indigenous songwriters.
Performers include: Amanda Rheaume, Claire Morrison, Guillaume Arsenault, Robert Thomas & the Sessionmen, Terra Spencer, and Wyatt C. Louis.
Awards to be presented: Contemporary Singer, English Songwriter, French Songwriter, New/Emerging Artist, Stan Rogers Traditional Singer, Vocal Group

Folk Forward
Friday, April 10 | 7:30 p.m. | Bella Concert Hall
A dynamic, diverse multi-genre showcase of contemporary folk voices and boundary-pushing artistry.
Performers include: AHI, Aysanabee, Boreal, Duane Andrews, Calgary’s own Calgaréal, and Yves Marchand.
Awards to be presented: Album Artwork, Contemporary Album, Indigenous Songwriter, Instrumental Solo Artist, Single of the Year, Solo Artist, Oliver Schroer Pushing the Boundaries

Traditional and Global Roots
Saturday, April 11 | 7:30 p.m. | Bella Concert Hall
An evening honouring traditional music and global influences that shape Canada’s folk sound.
Performers include: Cassie and Maggie, Garçons à Marier, Joaquin Núñez & Habana Safari, Kazdoura, Sacred Wolf Singers with Simon Wall, and Scott Duncan & Luka Hall.
Awards to be presented: Ensemble, Global Roots Album, Instrumental Composer, Instrumental Group, Traditional Album, Producer

Folk for Families
Sunday, April 12 | 11:00 a.m. | National Music Centre
An all-ages concert celebrating music for young listeners and families.
Performers include: Ginalina, James Culleton, Max Francis, and Oh Clementine.
Awards to be presented: Children’s Album, Young Performer
This concert is included with your CFMA wristband or free with admission to the National Music Centre
