121st Canada Day Races

The Millarville Canada Day Races are a family-friendly July 1 tradition just outside Calgary, celebrating community, heritage, and the excitement of race day. Gates open at 10:00 am, with races beginning at 12:00 pm on July 1, 2026.

Now in its 121st running, this beloved annual event features thoroughbred racing, local stock horses, quarter horses, pack horse races, ladies sidesaddle, and kids’ foot races. Guests can also enjoy live music in the beer gardens, food trucks, refreshments, face painting, a mini Millarville Market, a 50/50 draw, and plenty of space to gather with friends and family.

Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, wear red and white, and dress in their Derby best. General admission is $19.05 plus fees and GST in advance, while kids 12 and under are free. General admission at the gate is $25 including GST, and parking is free.
