Black History Month 30-Year Celebration

Join the National Music Centre for a full-day celebration spotlighting the creativity, legacy, and future of Calgary’s Black community in honour of Black History Month’s 30th anniversary.

Curated by legendary MuchMusic VJ Master T and hosted by NMC’s Rebecca Bukasa, this event aligns with the Government of Canada’s 2026 theme:
“30 Years of Black History Month: Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations – From Nation Builders to Tomorrow’s Visionaries.”

• Performances by neo-soul and hip-hop collective (un)decided and singer Peace Etaje

• Fashion show curated by streetwear stylist Jimmy Boi

• Community conversations with Black leaders and business owners

• Black History Month Market featuring 20 Black-owned vendors showcasing fashion, art, jewelry, and cultural goods
