A World Without Them - World Premiere
About the event
What do we lose when someone disappears — a species, a culture, a language, a voice?
A World Without Them is a visually immersive and emotionally powerful new solo theatre work that explores extinction in its many forms. Through a series of original and riveting vignettes, the performance invites audiences into a realm where bodies become language and survival is a deeply creative act.
Co-created by Deaf artist and internationally-acclaimed performer Landon Krentz and Ghost River Theatre’s Eric Rose, A World Without Them fuses physical theatre and the striking precision of visual vernacular, a performance technique rooted in Deaf expression that combines gesture, rhythm, facial expression, and role-shifting to tell stories in pure visual form. Designed to transcend cultural and language barriers, it is created as a shared experience for hearing and Deaf audiences. At its heart, A World Without Them is both intimate and epic: a love letter to those who came before, and a defiant stand for those still here. It is a bold act of reclamation, a celebration of Deaf artistry, and a call to imagine new futures where no one and no story is left behind.
