Mean Girls (Touring) at Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium 

Direct from Broadway, Mean Girls is the hilarious hit musical from book writer Tina Fey (“30 Rock”) of the story of a naïve newbie who falls prey to a trio of lionised frenemies, MEAN GIRLS “delivers with immense energy, a wicked sense of humour and joyful inside-jokery.”

Olio by Decidedly Jazz Danceworks

Olio means a stew, or a collection of things — in this case it’s a new performance created by five choreographers: company dancers Catherine Hayward, Sabrina Naz Comanescu and Kaja Irwin; DJD alumnus, Deanne Walsh; and DJD artistic director Kimberley Cooper. Music is played live by a jazz trio led by Jonathan McCaslin (composer/drummer) with Jon Wielebnowski (bass) and Chris Tauchner (piano/keyboards).

Spectacular Spanish Guitar with the Calgary Phil 

Warm up your winter with conductor Virginia Martínez and the Calgary Phil as they perform music from Spain! After Ruperto Chapí’s rousing Preludio, bask in Joaquín Rodrigo’s gorgeous Concierto de Aranjuez, featuring Canadian guitarist Daniel Bolshoy. Things heat up with the sultry melodies of Spanish dances composed by contemporaries Joaquín Turina and Manuel de Falla.
