Venture East through the forests and mountains of Asia to meet some of the world's most endangered species including the white-handed gibbons and Malayan Tapir including the newest addition - a baby Malayan Tapir named Nyawa. Be sure not to miss the majestic Amur tigers and Komodo dragons while you're there. Then head back in time through the seasonally open Prehistoric Park (May to September). Founded in 1929 and spanning a vast 125 acres, the zoo has grown into the wild heart of Calgary. As one of Alberta’s oldest charities, it operates as a not-for-profit wildlife conservation organization dedicated to protecting plants and animals worldwide.
