The Hangar Flight Museum
Aviation History Takes Flight
Located just south of YYC Calgary International Airport. The building in which the museum collection is held had its origins in the founding of the British Commonwealth Air Training Program in Calgary. Built in 1941, it was the drill hall for the #37 Secondary Flight Training School. It currently holds over 30 aircraft, from a Curtiss Jenny to a Hawker Hurricane, and allows guests to explore, engage, and experience the transformational power of flight. The museum contains aircraft, exhibits, uniforms, and scale models. Restoration projects are ongoing. Deepen your appreciation for the wonder of flight as you learn the stories told about the airplanes and helicopters in the collection, including rare and historically significant military and civilian aircraft. They are now also the Home of Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame! Shop online for unique aviation gifts, toys, books and more.
