Why Go
Located along the Bow River 10-minutes east of downtown Calgary, Bow Habitat Station offers a unique learning experience that’s sure to be a splash. Investigate, explore and discover Alberta’s fish, wildlife, water and aquatic ecosystems through hands-on exhibits and freshwater aquariums in the Discovery Centre. Feed thousands of fish in the Fish Hatchery (Fridays and Saturdays) while you discover what it takes to raise over a million trout each year. Cast a line or join a program to Learn to Fish in the Trout Pond (seasonally May-September). Take a stroll along the trails of the Interpretive Wetlands.
What's Great
Fish Hatchery adventures are sure to make a splash with all ages, and the Discovery Centre’s aquariums put you eye-to-eye with around 20 different species of Alberta’s freshwater fishes.
Local Tip:
During winter, Bow Habitat Station rents out Snowshoes for day-use along the trails of the Interpretive Wetlands. In the summer, Learn to Fish Clinics are available for those interested in fishing but unsure where to start.
