Bringing the Arts to Life
Werklund Centre, formerly known as Arts Commons, has been a driving force in Calgary's cultural, social, and economic growth since 1985. Currently one of the busiest cultural centres in North America, hosting over 2,000 events per year, it is a haven of self-expression for all, and a home to world-class arts companies, emerging artists, and a growing number of vibrant community groups. Werklund Centre is also the future site of Canada’s largest performing arts campus, where thirteen indoor and outdoor venues will sprawl over one million square feet in Calgary's downtown core and welcome more than 1.5 million visitors.
