Cochrane Parade of Lights

Location: Historic Main Street, Cochrane

Dates: November 17 – December 31

Celebrating 34 years of welcoming Christmas to Cochrane, this annual event brings residents and visitors together for bright lights and Christmas cheer. Join the community of Cochrane for the Parade of Lights on December 8. 

Tuscany Candy Cane Lane

Location: Tuscany

Dates: November 18 – December 21

The community of Tuscany celebrates the holiday spirit with bright lights and bring your food bank donations. In 2017, Tuscany Candy Cane Lane collected 1450 pounds of food.

Experience over 2 million holiday lights, 200 displays, crackling fire pits, and fun-filled activity zones with a Calgary tradition at Calgary Zoo, with Snow White and the Seven Stewards of the Forest in the ENMAX Conservatory. ZOOLIGHTS is open nightly from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Rotary Festival of Lights

Location: Malcom Hotel, Canmore

Dates: November 30 – December 31

Make a day trip of it and enjoy the Rotary Festival of Lights in Canmore, with a gingerbread house competition, kids holiday extravaganza (December 8), breakfast with Santa (December 2 and 9), seniors Christmas tea & reception (December 12), and wine, beer, and whisky tasting (December 14).

Legacy Christmas Light Parade

Location: 2 Legacy Circle SE

Dates: December 1-15

Over 120,000 lights make a drive through the streets of Legacy perfect for classic winter fun with a tunnel of lights and over 20 show homes decorated for the holiday season.

Airdrie Festival of Lights

Location: 1701 Main Street South, Airdrie

Dates: December 1 – 31

Train rides, fire pits, and kids only shopping experiences, make the Airdrie Festival of Lights Western Canada’s largest, free, outdoor walk-through Christmas light display one not to miss.

Lions Festival of Lights

Location: 14th Street NW

Dates: December 1 – January 8, 2019

Enjoy the largest free drive-by Christmas lights showcase in Calgary with this annual tradition that includes over 450,000 bulbs on 16,000 strings of lights. The 32nd annual, Lions Festival of Lights display is open nightly from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.

Light Up The Square! In East Village

Location: 5th Street Square

Dates: December 1

Sing carols, eat cookies, take a horse-drawn carriage wagon ride through the streets and pathways of East Village before the official neighbourhood tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. There might even be a visitor from the North Pole.

Mahogany Parade of Lights

Location: 29 Masters Park SE

Dates: December 8

Get into the holiday spirit with the second annual Mahogany Parade of Lights as the neighbourhood brightens up the season. Each street in the neighbourhood comes together to create a float the represents their street.

Christmas in the Coulee

Location: Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site, East Coulee

Dates: December 8-9

Thousands of lights are strung inside the Atlas Coal Mine tipple for a truly unique holiday experience. Santa will make an appearance, along with baked goods, live music, games, crafts, and the Polar Express train.
