“I think as an adult looking back, I'm very grateful to have been able to grow up in a culturally diverse and accepting city. I love that it's part of everyday life and that I have rarely ever felt discrimination of any kind. I love the fact that my parents who came here as refugees, where able to make it a new home and make many new friends over thirty plus years.”

Josh Sandulak

“I remember flying over the city after a really challenging trip overseas and seeing the rolling green hills and that warm summer light as the sun peaks out from behind the mountains. The only thing I could think about was this overwhelming feeling of "I'm home. Finally. There's nowhere else I'd rather be right now. I love this place."

Nadine Richards

“If I could I would inject the sense of community that Calgary has into every other city in the world. I’ve always found comfort and pride in Calgary because people truly care about each other and our city overflows with love and kindness.

"Coming out here from Montreal was the best decision I have ever made besides marrying my wife. We moved here 10 years ago, right out of University (Go Stingers!), and this beautiful city has so much to offer. Mountains, great people, endless opportunity and in the last 5 years or so...some amazing food and a growing culture.”

“Calgary has always been "home", it's where I grew up but it took me a very long time to really fall in love with the city, only as of recently have I really felt like this is where I belong. With the nature of my job I travel quite a bit and after spending extended amounts of time away I started to really love coming home, there is something comforting about getting on a flight back to Calgary. I am fortunate to be surrounded by a great community of friends and family.”
