With Calgary hosting the CCMA’s 43rd annual Country Music Week, it becomes the show’s most frequent host city at nine times. There is a rich history of country music in Calgary and with new infrastructure like Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, there is tremendous optimism for the future. Calgary’s reputation as a music hotspot has been reinforced by the forming of the Music Mile, a 1.1 mile stretch of road through two of the city’s trendiest neighbourhoods, that is packed with venues, restaurants, and galleries.
Hosting the CCMA’s is a true city-wide collaboration. Tourism Calgary sits on a hosting committee with numerous other local partners to ensure that the event is executed successfully. By working together Calgary has been able to continuously attract large cultural events like the CCMA’s.
