Everwild Nordic Spa
Just off the TransCanada Highway in Canmore, Everwild Nordic Spa spans 38,000 square feet with the Canadian Rockies rising in every direction.
What to expect
Two large outdoor hot pools get things going, but there are additional hot, cold, and tempered pools to work through. Additionally, there’s wooden barrel saunas, steam rooms with illuminated skylights, and a salt relaxation room. When you need a pause, gather around an outdoor fire pit or settle into a relaxation tent.
Day passes include complimentary guided wellness rituals inspired by the four elements. These drop-in experiences vary in tone throughout the day and are held in different spots, from the event sauna and outdoor fire to retreat tents. Some sessions are calm and meditative, while others incorporate music and movement. Check the daily schedule upon arrival to plan your circuit.

BASIN Glacial Waters
Inspired by the healing power of water and air in the Canadian Rockies, BASIN Glacial Waters elevates thermotherapy to a level more commonly found at Europe's finest wellness retreats.
What to expect
An intake form on arrival shapes your entire experience . You’ll receive a customized bathing cycle trail card tailored to your needs—be it stress relief or heightened awareness. Flip the card over, and you'll find a suggested sequence of experiences to follow, taking the guesswork out of where to begin.
Work through a circuit that includes a Finnish sauna, bio sauna, Aufguss sauna ritual, steam room and ice scrub station. There’s a Kneipp walk for standing contrast bathing, a hydramassage pool and both indoor and outdoor vitality pools.
Inside, a silent Himalayan salt relaxation room and a heated hot stone room, where guided breathwork and sound therapy sessions invite deeper rest. A take-home komuso flex tool lets you continue the ritual long after you leave.
All pools and relaxation areas are framed by arched floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking turquoise-hued Lake Louise and the Victoria Glacier.
Local tip: To enhance your experience, sign up for the Aufguss ritual and breathwork session at the front desk upon arrival.

Kananaskis Nordic Spa (Credit: Travel Alberta/Karl Lee @karlleephoto)
Kananaskis Nordic Spa
Alberta's original Nordic spa sits about an hour west of Calgary, tucked against the mountains of Kananaskis. The setting of the Kananaskis Nordic Spa is fully outdoors, with the Rockies rising above the steamy pools doing all the heavy lifting.
What to expect
Two distinct areas make up the hydrotherapy circuit and between them, you'll find everything you need to fully detox. In the social zone, soak in large hot pools, shock your system at the cold plunge waterfall, sweat it out in the Finnish or Banya saunas, or unwind in the eucalyptus and Alchemist steam cabins.
A newer, quieter area adds a forest-view sauna, cabin sauna, additional hot pools and the Calm Cabin, where floor-to-ceiling windows frame the forest while you put your feet up.
