#LoveYYC Day returns Nov. 2 to encourage Calgarians to explore and celebrate their city
Tourism Calgary partners offer over 130 one-day deals to promote civic pride and Calgary’s shareable experiences.
Oct. 23, 2019 – Tourism Calgary’s fourth annual #LoveYYC Day returns on Saturday, Nov. 2 to encourage Calgarians to explore their city; try something new; and share stories about the people, places and experiences that make Calgary so unique. To amplify the celebration, over 130 Tourism Calgary partners are offering compelling one-day #LoveYYC deals and programming.
“We know that Calgary’s community spirit is unsurpassed. It’s truly our superpower and a big point of pride,” says Cindy Ady, CEO Tourism Calgary. “That’s why we’ve created a platform for Calgarians to share that passion, try something new and find even more reason to love their city and its unique offerings.”
While these one-day deals encourage Calgarians to seek out – and share – the experiences that are uniquely Calgary’s, they also offer a significant lift to Tourism Calgary partners.
“At Righteous Gelato, #LoveYYC Day is one of our favourite celebrations,” says James Boettcher, Chief Idea Officer & Custodian of Culture, Righteous Gelato. “It gives us a chance to open our space, share our gelato and watch hundreds of local fans connect with our brand, all while celebrating the city we’re proud to call home.”
This year’s #LoveYYC Day deals include: Free tours and tastings at Righteous Gelato; buy-one-get-one free tickets for the Dave Kelly Live Christmas Special; half-price general admission to Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre; two-for-one brunch with a non-perishable food donation at Trolley 5 Brewpub; free burger with purchase of a 20 oz New Level Bersker Blonde draught beer at Thomsons Kitchen & Bar; $5 entry to the Genesis Centre and much more! For the best #LoveYYC Day experience, Tourism Calgary recommends Calgarians review the full list of deals on visitcalgary.com/loveyyc, select deals that peak their interest, read any associated terms and conditions and then join their fellow Calgarians in exploring and celebrating their city on Nov. 2.
In 2018, over 100,000 people and businesses engaged with the campaign through social media, eliciting countless stories that promote civic pride. This year, Calgarians are encouraged to join the conversation once again by sharing their favourite Calgary pictures and stories using the #LoveYYC hashtag.
