Amazing ambassadors win White Hats
The Calgary White Hat Awards, a one-of-a-kind event that traditionally includes a red carpet, live awards and gala reception. The Awards celebrate inspiring Calgarians in the tourism industry who go above and beyond and strive to make their guests' experience a memorable one.
In following recommendations from CEMA and Alberta Health Services, and in doing our part to support the need for physical distancing to flatten the curve of COVID-19, Tourism Calgary made the difficult decision not to host the traditional 58th annual Calgary White Hat Awards Gala in May 2020. Despite this, it felt more important than ever to celebrate the ultimate hosts who make our city so special. For that reason, Tourism Calgary carried on the tradition of the Calgary White Hat Awards, just a little differently. Because we couldn't host the big gala we typically do, we captured the magic in video so everyone can feel part of the celebration. Nominations for the 58th annual White Hat Awards are now closed. We are pleased to announce that with the help of more than 177 volunteers, 543 ultimate hosts were interviewed as part of this year's program.
