Session 1: Artist Audit with Jessie Okyere
Jessie Okyere is a creator and strategist on a mission to prove that being organized doesn’t have to be boring. With a foot in both the business and healthcare worlds, I know exactly what it’s like to balance a big vision with limited disposable income. I specialize in helping artists with irregular paycheques, turn chaos into calm through the Artist Audit. A system for organizing your Wealth, Health, and Home using the low-friction tools you already own, like Apple Notes and your calendar. My goal is to help you build systems for life management so you can spend less time stressing and get back to the "why"; of your art and help you get those creative juices flowing.
Session 2: Lighting and Sound 101 with Adam Buzzard
For over ten years Adam has had a passion for audio and live production. His career began in voiceover work and gradually evolved into audio post-production for film and TV. During his time working at The Forge Audio, he had the privilege over working on a variety of projects and has been nominated for multiple AMPIA awards. Currently, he is working as the Technical Lead at the Bert Church Theatre, facilitating hundreds of events ranging from live music to theatrical productions, mixing audio, designing lights, and everything else that comes with live entertainment.
Session 3: Radio Panel featuring X92.9, CJSW, and CKUA
Logan Middleton is the Host of Xposure, Assistant Music Director, and Imaging Director at Calgary’s Alternative X92.9. A passionate advocate for local and independent music, Logan has built a reputation as a champion of emerging artists and a trusted voice for Canada’s indie scene. He serves as a juror for the Juno Awards, Polaris Music Prize, and YYC Music Awards, contributing to the recognition and growth of Calgary’s vibrant music community and Canadian independent music at large.
Adam Kamis is a born and raised Calgarian. He is probably best known for being an engaged champion of a lot of different fields within the city’s music, arts/cultural and nightlife scene. Since 2017, Adam has been Station Manager of CJSW 90.9FM Campus & Community Radio, and for many more years, has been the host of The Failed Pilot show, broadcasting every Thursday afternoon from 2pm-4pm MST. Adam is also on the Music Calgary board of directors and is a long-serving volunteer of the Sled Island Music & Arts Festival. Adam is a perennially active member of Calgary’s music scene as a musician (Liquor Mountain, Hex Ray, Brenda Vaqueros, English Teeth, Agriculture Club, Thee Maypolers) and DJ. In past lives, Adam has also been a nightclub manager, bartender, promoter and writer.
Daniel Goodridge graduated from MacEwan University’s Library and Information Technology program and started volunteering at CKUA Radio. His love for the station and music in general was a welcomed surprise when after meeting, Arianne Smith-Piquette (Content Director), he found out they had a special library. After being hired full-time at CKUAs music library, he is now responsible for handling incoming music (physical and digital) as well as Top 30 Charts and some on-air features. Being an avid listener of CKUA and all kinds of music he has a good ear for what could be of interest for the CKUA hosts and listeners.
Session 4: Ethical Use Of AI In Music Composition with Bilal Tanweer
Bilal Bin Tanweer is a Calgary-based entrepreneur, software engineer, and self-taught musician with a passion for technology and creativity. He launched his first software company at the age of 19 and moved to Canada in 1996, later founding eFormative Systems Inc. in 2000 and WOW Electric Rides in 2013, a growing micro-mobility company with multiple retail locations in Calgary. With a background in software engineering, business, and innovation, Bilal has spent decades working at the intersection of technology and entrepreneurship.
Music has remained a lifelong passion for Bilal since high school, where he began producing music and performing in bands. Working from his home studio, he creates a fusion of Eastern and Western-inspired music across genres including pop, rock, hip hop, and EDM. In recent years, he has been exploring how Artificial Intelligence is transforming music production by making the creative process faster, smarter, and more refined, while still preserving the artist’s originality and creativity.
