About the event
This electrifying musical sets the ageless tragedy of Romeo and Juliet in the slums of 1950s New York. In Manhattan’s Upper West Side, rival gangs of Polish-Americans and newly arrived Puerto Ricans clash for control of the neighborhood, even as two young members from opposite sides fall dangerously in love. A classic musical from 1961, co-directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins.
