Sleeping with a Tiger skillfully blends documentary, fiction, and stylishly daring cinematic techniques to explore the life of the extraordinary Austrian artist Maria Lassnig (1919–2014). Portrayed by Birgit Minichmayr (Berlinale Best Actress winner for Everyone Else), Lassnig is presented through each key milestone of her life, from her status as a childhood prodigy to her later recognition as an acclaimed painter. The film delves into her struggles, particularly her fight against societal conventions and her relentless effort to assert her artistic vision in a male-dominated world.

All films at CEFF are presented in their original language with English subtitles.
