About the event
Napoleon: Art, Money and War explores how Napoleon Bonaparte built and projected power through material culture. Coins, medals, artworks, books, and official documents show how finance underpinned military ambition, and how visual language helped legitimize authority. Money funded war, medals rewarded service, and art shaped memory. Seen together, these objects reveal an empire constructed not only on the battlefield, but through systems of value, exchange, and representation. The exhibition will feature objects from the Nickle Numismatic Collection as well as artefacts on loan from a private collection.
