HYMM Melodies
HYMM Melodies combines traditional melodies from around the world with modern compositions to create music that appeals to a wide audience. Based in Calgary, these musicians come from diverse backgrounds (Iran, Syria, Turkey, East of Europe, Chile, and Quebec), with influences from jazz, blues, Klezmer, and Western pop music. The group features the sound of the traditional Iranian Santur, traditional Kurdish Turkish Saz, and the Arabic Oud, combined with violin, electric bass, Latin Guitar, clarinet, saxophone, percussion, dance and vocals.
