A chance for both members and non-members to meet, network, and start to plan their next great thing. Whether you're a long-time member or just curious about what the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers is all about, our Monthly Hangout is the perfect place to connect, share, and get inspired.

Held at the CSIF offices, this casual get-together is open to both members and non-members. Come by to meet fellow filmmakers, learn about the resources and opportunities CSIF offers, and maybe even catch a presentation or short screening from a local creator.

This event is sponsored by the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers. CSIF was founded in 1978 by a collective of twelve filmmakers who saw the growing need for film resources and film equipment on the traditional Treaty 7 territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Iyarhe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3), also known as Calgary, Alberta. Now over 40 years later we are an integral part of the growing cultural community in Calgary and are excited about new collaborations and opportunities.
