About the event
Jenny Andersen Presents: My Favourite Sings
Musical theatre performer and teacher Jenny Andersen leads us through a collection of songs marking pivotal moments in her life in the performing arts – from her first steps on the stage, through her high school and university years in Calgary, to significant milestones in her professional career and personal life. Through classic and contemporary melodies interspersed with authentic storytelling, she celebrates the joy of newfound artistic discovery; “full-circle moments” & synchronicity; and a song’s ability to amplify and uplift life’s biggest adventures.
Jenny Andersen wears many artistic “hats”…and likes it that way. Born, raised and educated in Calgary and now residing in Vancouver, her professional career has been focussed on the myriad ways in which to weave together story and song.
Jenny has also been teaching voice for over 25 years and has a bustling private studio; her students have performed on stages across Canada (including the Arts Club, the Shaw Festival, Citadel, Rainbow Stage, and MTC), in addition to hundreds of shows collectively across Western Canada. She has been on faculty since 2021 as the Singing Instructor for Studio 58, one of Canada’s top theatre conservatories.
