Between 1875-1914, thousands of prisoners crossed through the Fort Calgary prisons, each with their own story and accused crime. Gin, Jail & Justice follows a handful of these stories, examining some of the most interesting and prevalent crimes and criminals of Calgary during the 39-year occupation of Fort Calgary.

At Gin, Jail & Justice, go behind bars and take a glimpse into the day-to-day lives of those held at Fort Calgary’s prisons while also examining the pressures that strained these prisons and their operations. This event begins in the replica 1888 Fort Calgary Barracks, where you’ll enjoy a specialty cocktail before embarking on a twilight walking tour of the parkland to spots significant to historical crime in Calgary.
