DJ Shadow

DJ Shadow Celebrates 30 Years of Endtroducing at The Palace on Thursday, October 29th!

DJ Shadow is an American DJ, music producer, and turntablist who is widely considered a pioneer of instrumental hip-hop and electronic music. He rose to fame in the 1990s as a master of "crate digging"—spending countless hours in record shops finding obscure vinyl albums to sample and cut together into new sonic landscapes.

He is best known for his 1996 debut studio album, Endtroducing...... The record made music history by being widely recognized as the first album created entirely from samples. Using only a turntable, a tape recorder, and an Akai MPC60 sampler, he meticulously pieced together fragments of jazz, funk, rock, and spoken-word records to create a cinematic, atmospheric masterpiece that influenced an entire generation of electronic and hip-hop producers
