Darren Johnson

For the last ten years, Darren Johnson has been a fixture on the Canadian blues and roots scene – working with the likes of Amos Garrett, Tim Williams, Jim Byrnes, John Lee Sanders, and The Blind Boys of Alabama.

His music has been described as “somewhere in between Tom Waits and Leon Redbone, Howlin’ Wolf and Willie Nelson”. His songwriting is simple, yet deals with everyday situations for everyday people. His sound is a throwback to yesteryear, one may find themselves deceived by the contrast between what they are hearing and what they are seeing.
