Celebrating by Candlelight: Christmas in the Victorian Era
About the event
So many of our favourite holiday traditions began in the Victorian era - sending Christmas cards, decorating trees, and hanging stockings might be classic features of the season for us, but they were new to the Victorians! Take a tour through time in the spectacularly decorated Lougheed House this holiday season and learn about the origins of your favourite Christmas celebrations, examine holiday artifacts of the past, and explore the decorated house.
