Behind the scenes: conserving Katie Ohe's sculpture Day and Night
About the event
What does it take to conserve a work of art that has stood in Calgary for over fifty years? Join us for an evening exploring the journey of Katie Ohe’s beloved sculpture Day and Night from outdoor park to indoor garden. Watch a rare, behind the scenes short film created by restoration team member Alexander Boyd and discover the technical process but also the patience, care, and respect required in conservation. You’ll then have the opportunity to dive deeper in a Q&A with The City’s Public Art Conservator, Sophia Zweifel, and restoration team member, Alexander Boyd.
To wrap up the evening, enjoy a guided tour of the exhibition Fragment to Form | Katie Ohe and the Shape of Persistence and experience Day and Night in its new home.
