About Carl Mayotte: Winner of the Félix Award for Jazz Album of the Year in 2022 and named Radio-Canada’s Jazz Revelation for 2020–2021, Carl Mayotte is one of the most sought-after bassists and jazz musicians in Quebec and Canada today. Holding a master’s degree in jazz performance from McGill University, his virtuosity and versatility have been praised by fellow musicians and critics alike, including Alain Caron and Bass Magazine. One of his goals as an artist is to democratize jazz and bring this musical genre back to the forefront. In line with this mission, he published The Ultimate Jazz Fusion Play-Along for Bass with Hudson Music in 2023. Since the release of his latest album Carnaval in the fall of 2023, Carl Mayotte has received a GAMIQ award and earned additional nominations at both the Prix Opus Gala and the ADISQ.
