About the event
The Clothesline Art Market is a much-loved outdoor event that celebrates original, handmade work and the artists behind it. Held on the lawn around the historic Leighton home, artists get the opportunity to share their work with an engaged audience, connect directly with collectors, and be part of a long-standing creative tradition. Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday June 6 and Sunday June 7, 2026, local artists will be set up outdoors, presenting their original artworks for sale. Inside the Leighton’s heritage home, you’ll discover a great selection of art and fine craft throughout the gallery and shop.
We’ll have delicious food truck offerings and activities for the whole family. Bring the family (except Fido) and show your support for our local artists and explore our 80-acre property. Choose your favourite view, get a tour of our historic home and property, make some art outdoors and enjoy one of the best picnic spots in Alberta! And don’t miss the unveiling of Words To Wander To, a land-based writing installation in collaboration with Unleash Press, and explore written works inspired by the Centre installed along our trails.
This year, we’re also excited to share that we are going back to our roots and re-introducing a larger, LAC-run tented-area to showcase even more works on the Clothesline – that means even more art to explore all weekend long!
Admission by donation. No smoking, alcohol, or dogs are allowed on the property.
