SUMMARY:Intro to 3D Modeling in Blender
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is a beginner-friendly introduction to Blender\,
a free 3D modeling program. Over three classes (9 hours total)\, you will l
earn how to build objects from basic shapes\, refine their forms\, and add
color and textures to bring them to life. Each class combines short present
ations\, live demonstrations and hands-on exercises\, where you will learn
by doing.\n\nNo prior experience in Blender is required.\n\nWhat to bring:
Your own laptop with Blender installed.\n\nClass #1: Introduction to Blende
 r's interface and controls. \n\nSaturday\, November 7th at 2-5PM\n\nLearn h
ow to navigate the 3D workspace\, move and shape objects\, and build more c
omplex forms from simple geometric shapes. You will learn how to use a mesh
and create good topology.\n\nClass #2: Refine your model.\n\nSaturday\, No
vember 14th at 2-5PM\n\nLearn how to smooth and refine the shapes you creat
 e. We’ll explore beveling\, which softens sharp edges\; subdivision\, whi
ch makes models look smoother\; and normals\, which help Blender determine
how light interacts with a surface.\n\nClass #3: Add color and texture.\n\n
Saturday\, November 21st at 2-5PM\n\nYou’ll learn the basics of UV mappin
g\, which helps you apply images and textures to a 3D object. Finally\, you
’ll export your finished model and learn how to use it in future projects
 .\n \nAbout your instructor:\n\nGene “Gomo” Cabarroguis is a dancer\, a
nimator and multimedia designer from Calgary\, Alberta Canada. He has been
dancing since 2006 developing a theatre\, commercial and competitive backgr
ound\, now working in education\, animation\, short film and video games. T
hroughout the years he has shared his work across North America and the Phi
lippines in the forms of artist programming\, workshops\, events\, competit
ions and design. From sharing stages alongside artists such as The Tentacle
Tribe(Montreal)\, Bird Gang(UK) and Just Dance(Korea) to now creating for
projects in concept design for graphic novel: Aklas Trilogy\, video game de
sign and animation for USAY\, Beakerhead\, CQAS and Telus Spark.\n\nhttps:/
