SUMMARY:Pokaiks: The Children — National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
DESCRIPTION:Join Pokaiks Reconciliation Society at Contemporary Calgary on 
 September 30 for a day of community\, culture\, learning and reflection in 
 honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.\n\nNow in its 10th
  year\, Pokaiks’ annual gathering brings people together through Indigeno
 us arts\, culture and community programming\, creating opportunities to lea
 rn\, connect and take part in meaningful reconciliation.\n\nThe day begins 
 with the annual Pokaiks Reconciliation Walk\, departing from River Hall at 
 11:00 AM and making its way to Contemporary Calgary\, followed by opening c
 eremonies.\n\nFrom 12:00 PM\, explore programming throughout the gallery\, 
 including an Indigenous artisan market\, community organizations\, live per
 formances\, Tipi Talks\, Indigenous games\, family activities\, workshops\,
  films and a drum circle. Visitors can also enjoy Indigenous food\, food tr
 ucks and a coffee cart throughout the afternoon.\n\nThere will be opportuni
 ties for both participation and reflection\, including a quiet area hosted 
 by Calgary Public Library and a dedicated Elder’s Niche.\n\nThe afternoon
  will conclude with closing ceremonies at 5:00 PM.\n\nEveryone is welcome.\
 n\nEvent Schedule\n\n11:00 AM — Pokaiks Reconciliation Walk departs from 
 River Hall (311 8 St SW\, next to the 10th Street Bridge)\, ending at Conte
 mporary Calgary.\n\n12:00 PM — Opening Ceremonies.\n\n12:00–5:30 PM —
  Performances\, artisans\, community organizations and family programming.\
 n\nPlease note: For all programming taking place inside Contemporary Calgar
