DESCRIPTION:Free Event. Join The Confluence for National Day for Truth and 
 Reconciliation to actively engage in reconciliation and decolonization with
  a variety of free\, educational programming.\n\nSeptember 30th is National
  Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Colloquially known as Orange Shirt Day\,
  this day honours the survivors of residential schools and the children who
  never returned home\, as well as to recognize the inter-generational impac
 t and trauma that residential schools continue to have on individuals\, fam
 ilies\, and communities.\n\nAs part of our ongoing mission of reconciliatio
 n and decolonization\, The Confluence will be offering a variety of free pr
 ogramming all day\, including free admission to exhibits in the cultural ce
 ntre\, programming in tipis on the land\, educational walking tours and mor
 e. The site will also host the City of Calgary Orange Shirt Day Program fro
 m 9-10:30 am.\n\nWe highly encourage visitors to our site on this day to co
 me wearing an orange shirt or other orange clothing items\, such as scarves
 \, hats\, buttons\, etc. If you are in need of an orange shirt\, we recomme
 nd purchasing from the Orange Shirt Society\, a non-profit organization tha
 t aims to create awareness of the generational impacts of Residential Schoo
