 zar\, this class will happen over three nights and will allow you to plan\,
  shoot\, get feedback\, and then present a finished short diary film.\n\nDi
 ary film is a genre where directors document their own lives\, thoughts\, a
 nd emotions. It stretches back to the earliest days of filmmaking.\n\nBy th
 e end of the three nights you will have a finished short film.\n\nArmando S
 alazar’s work explore space\, subject\, time as a narrative\, family and 
 social ties\, and the construction of identity. His work on diary films com
 es from a personal archive of about 100 recorded hours which began in 2008.
  And it’s still growing!\n\nThe breakdown will be:\n\nThursday\, August 1
 3\, 6pm to 8pm:\n- Introduction to Diary Films\n- Examples of Diary Films\n
 - Discussion of possible ideas to be created\n- Instructions on how to capt
 ure moments for your film\n\nThursday\, August 20\, 6pm to 8pm:\n- Review o
 f footage and edits\n- Feedback for final version\n\nFriday\, August 28\, 6
 pm to 8pm\n- Showcase of films with critique\n\nThis event is sponsored by 
 the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers. CSIF was founded in 1978 by 
 a collective of twelve filmmakers who saw the growing need for film resourc
 es and film equipment on the traditional Treaty 7 territory of the Blackfoo
 t Confederacy (Siksika\, Kainai\, Piikani)\, the Tsuut’ina\, the Iyarhe N
 akoda Nations\, the Métis Nation (Region 3)\, also known as Calgary\, Albe
 rta. Now over 40 years later we are an integral part of the growing cultura
 l community in Calgary and are excited about new collaborations and opportu
