SUMMARY:Sled Island and CJSR present: Suffering Hour\, Anthrodynia\, FRANKL
 IN and Culled
DESCRIPTION:Suffering Hour\nPitch-black metal trio Suffering Hour plumb the
depths of depravity for an avant-garde take on extreme music. Their sound
features goth intonations\, primal howls\, and even touches of thrash metal
on their latest EP\, Impending Rebirth. With thunderous riffs born in the
pits of hell\, Suffering Hour is one of the heaviest shows at Sled Island t
his year.\nAnthrodynia\n“As the behaviour of mankind increases in cruelty
and pettiness\, a permanent state of exhaustion has taken its hold.” The
se words inform the sound of Anthrodynia\, a doomy death metal band from th
e desolate landscape of Edmonton. Their debut album\, Unspeakable Horrors E
manating from Within\, hypnotizes you with relentless riffs and a crushing
atmosphere. \nFRANKLIN\nDubbed “gateway metal” by listeners\, FRANKLIN
is the melodic\, sludgy\, tension-building riff machine your nightmares hav
e been waiting for. Hailing from the capital of the Yukon\, this two-piece
metal menace features Kirsty Wells (bass/lead vocals) and Evan Joel (drums/
back-up vocals). Together\, they reflect the unsung desolation\, mania\, an
d paralyzing limitlessness typical of the vast north.\nCulled\nEmbracing th
e contrast of slow\, crushing sludge and doom with the blistering speed and
chaos of grindcore\, heavy four-piece Culled blend their distinctive sound
with messages of peace and love that implore the need for empathy in today
's unstable political climate. The group features members from bands such a
 s Thorazine\, Disciples of Power\, WAKE\, Exit Strategy and many more.\nImp
