SUMMARY:Sled Island presents: Medusas\, Often Wrong\, Kingdom of Birds and
 NIFE FITE
DESCRIPTION:Medusas\nGirls to the front! With feminist lyrics and fierce\,
electrifying performances\, Medusas are a youth riot grrrl band from Calgar
y (and we love to see it)! Inspired by Bikini Kill\, L7 and Joan Jett\, the
trio aims to encourage other young people to fight against injustice and s
tand up for what’s right.\nOften Wrong\nCombining a DIY attitude and emot
ionally vulnerable lyrics\, Often Wrong creates a combination of emo and po
st-hardcore inspired by bands such as Unwound\, Slint\, and Train Breaks Do
wn\, and authors such as Franz Kafka and Sylvia Plath\, coupling tragic mon
ologues of spoken word with cathartic screamed choruses.\nKingdom of Birds\
nA grunge-punk three-piece formed in high school\, Kingdom of Birds continu
e to rise five years after their fiery creation\, having played over 100 sh
ows\, including opening slots for Maruja\, Deerhoof\, Cumgirl8 and Partner.
Released this past February\, their latest album\, Vermin\, finds the trio
further spreading their wings\, flaunting eight catchy tunes that demand y
 our attention.\nNIFE FITE\nLoud\, bad\, and bleeding\, NIFE FITE is a new\,
yet recognizable art-punk trio consisting of Matthew Springer (Radioactive
Vampire Teeth\, Dial Up)\, E. Collins (Thee Canadian Dispatch) and Kaiden
Jackman (The Furnace). Satirizing violence in the media\, the group plows t
hrough bite sized tunes about knives\, stabbings\, and childhood games with
reckless abandon.\n \nImportant info:Start and running times are subject
