The Canadian Folk Music Awards Festival Week is coming to Calgary in 2026 — and everyone’s invited. More than an awards show, the CFMAs are a multi-day celebration of live music, featuring showcase concerts by outstanding folk, roots, and traditional artists from across Canada. Whether you’re discovering new music, following favourite artists, or planning a night out, the festival offers intimate performances, high-energy concerts, and a welcoming atmosphere for music lovers of all kinds and ages.

An evening celebrating storytelling in song by some of Canada’s best French, English, and Indigenous songwriters.
Performers include: Amanda Rheaume, Claire Morrison, Guillaume Arsenault, Robert Thomas & the Sessionmen, Terra Spencer, and Wyatt C. Louis.
Folk Forward

A dynamic, diverse multi-genre showcase of contemporary folk voices and boundary-pushing artistry.
Performers include: AHI, Aysanabee, Boreal, Duane Andrews, Calgary’s own Calgaréal, and Yves Marchand.
Traditional and Global Roots
Saturday, April 11 | 7:30 p.m. | Bella Concert Hall
Tickets: $40.00 + Fees
An evening honouring traditional music and global influences that shape Canada’s folk sound.
Performers include: Cassie and Maggie, Garçons à Marier, Joaquin Núñez & Habana Safari, Kazdoura, Sacred Wolf Singers with Simon Wall, and Scott Duncan & Luka Hall.
Folk for Families
Sunday, April 12 | 11:00 a.m. | National Music Centre
This concert is included with your CFMA wristband or free with admission to the National Music Centre
An all-ages concert celebrating music for young listeners and families.
Performers include: Ginalina, James Culleton, Max Francis, and Oh Clementine.
