Using the same philosophy of seasonality and locality found in Japan, Shokunin utilizes the best ingredients found right in our own backyards and prepares this bounty using traditional Japanese methods. The menu features small plates, cooked over binchotan grills fuelled by traditional hardwood coals made of ubame oak that create a unique flavour and aroma. Voted one of Canada's top 50 restaurants, Shokunin is a modern take on Japanese cuisine with a Canadian twist. Small plates, meant to share with friends and family, and seasonal ingredients, are at the heart of this contemporary Japanese dining experience. Sashimi, ramen, seafood, fish, vegetables and so much more. Shokunin offers sake by the bottle with a collection of over 25 authentic Japanese sakes and Calgary's first Omakase sushi experience.
